Dunny is a 16.1 hands thoughroughbred ex racehorse broodmare. She came to us from our good friends John and Elaine who have a lovely stud in Cumbria now breeding Pinelodge ponies who are mainly pure bred welsh.

She has been with us for two years and last July Glenwood stud managed to put her in foal for us to Catherston Dance in the Dark, he is a superb warmblood stallion and we are hopefully going to get a foal in June 2011 who should be a stunner given his parents credentials.

Dunmail's foal, a chesnut mare called Olivia, was born on 21st June 2011 and unusually for one of our animals was born in early afternoon rather than the middle of the night! She has now moved across Cumbria a little and is resident with my daughter Emma. She has grown at a remarkable rate and now looks like a small horse rather than the gangly legged foal she was when she was born.

We are just starting to work with Olivia teaching her to walk and trot on the lead rope so that she can be shown in hand next year. If the pictures of Olivia's half siblings are anything to go by she will make a stunning horse when she is fully grown.

Once the foal has been weaned then Dunmail will be given a year off before hopefully sending her back to Glenwood Stud to put her in foal again, this time probably to Wise Guy.
